Merging old world, clean lines and modern efficiency, this classic home was remodeled to highlight timeless features and transform each room into a fresh and incredibly inviting space.
This historic Steamboat Springs’ residence was constructed in 1904. The goal in bringing new life to this classic home was to maintain the historic feel of its exterior “shell” and throw the interior into the future, with a more clean and open floor plan. Polished brass fixtures, 1980’s wallpaper, and outdated tile and a nonfunctional kitchen were upped with state-of-the-art appliances, water saving fixtures, more durable surfaces, and resurfaced wood floors made the home more efficient to maintain and live in.
The original trim was preserved and accentuated by painting it white. The carpet was removed in all areas, including the stairs which were stained in dark walnut to match the new shelving to contrast with the white trim, creating an old word feel.
